Project overviewEdit

I am interested in how sugars regulate photosynthesis in plants. In response to sugars, plants down-regulate photosynthetic gene expression, which allows them to optimize the use of resources, such as nitrogen, as they grow. Understanding this feedback inhibition of photosynthetic gene expression will further our understanding of source-sink interactions and plant responses to environmental change. It could also aid in the engineering of plants with increased photosynthetic efficiency, thereby improving crop yields.
